REFLECTIONS ARTS PROGRAM
Reflections® is a theme focused National PTA and Washington State PTA arts recognition program. The Reflections program celebrates K-12 student creativity and encourages school age youth to express themselves through the arts. Student art is judged first at the school level (Brookside). Finalists from the school level will move on to the district level (Shoreline) and then the state and national levels for judging.
All Brookside students are encouraged to participate in the Reflections Art Program!
Previous art experience not required!
Special Artist Category for students identified as having a disability.
Deadline for submission will be December 5, 2025
All submissions are done via email - submit art and required entry form to reflections@brooksidepta.org.
Questions? Please contact Reflections chair, Lisa Koreis, reflections@brooksidepta.org
For more program details visit the WA PTA website here.
How to Participate/Enter:
STEP 1: Reflect on the theme "I Belong!"
This step is important!
STEP 2: Select and art category in which to express your reflection on the theme
See below for a list of art categories and their descriptions.
STEP 3: Create a work of original art
Student artists should be mindful of how their work reflects the theme, as well as the artistic technique (skill in process, use of materials, etc.) and presentation (attention to details). Do not put names in front of art or writing. It is recommended that students (parents) review the full Student Entry Rules prior to starting their art – be sure to scroll down the page to find the guidelines.
STEP 4: Complete the REFLECTIONS ENTRY FORM to submit your art and artist statement
The artist statement should thoughtfully communicate the content and inspiration of the work and how it relates to the theme.
PLEASE NOTE: The statement will be considered part of the art during the judging process
Deadline for submission is December 5, 2025. Submissions before this date are welcome and appreciated!
